Read More"It's better to fail in originality than succeed in imitation." -Herman Melville
Keep trying your own ideas. It's the only way to find what truly inspires you and you'll end up with something much more valuable than if you imitate others.
Can you truly be content with success based on imitation, anyway? That kind of success isn't sustainable because you need that spark of personality or something different that helps you stand out. That differentiating factor.
I'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments!
"People are prettiest when they talk about something they really love with passion in their eyes." -k.v.h. What lights up your eyes?
What fuels your passion the most?
"There is no finish line, so love the journey." -David Weekly Just a quick reminder that there is no finish line.
Stop the mindset of "when x happens, things will be better" or "when x happens, I'll feel fulfilled."
Don't rush through life. This is a reason to find passions, either in hobbies or your career.
"I myself am entirely made of flaws stitched together with good intentions." Reminder: we're all made of flaws. It's the intentions that matter.
"Let yourself be silently drawn by the strange pull of what you really love. It will not lead you astray." -Rumi Growing up I loved entertaining myself with a wide variety things...making magazines + collages, writing stories, designing websites on Angelfire when I got a little older, health + fitness, reading about mental health issues, etc. I didn't imagine I'd figure out a way to combine a lot of these interests into a career.
What did you love to do as a child? What do you love to do now?
Even if you don't turn it into a business, you need to incorporate more of it into your life. Make time for your hobbies and passions. They're worth more than you think.
Or maybe you have a very specific, offbeat interest. This is even better as far as business is concerned, but it could also be a great way for you to connect with like-minded people.
Don't be afraid to share your passions. As the quote says, they will not lead you astray.
What does this quote mean to you?
I'm a huge supporter of authenticity in business, so naturally I love this image. The more easily people can relate to you, the more they will trust you. Your clients and customers want to know you're human.
You don't need to attract everyone as a client. You will attract a more solid, loyal following when you can connect to a smaller niche.
What about YOU attracts your tribe?

"Until you value yourself, you won't value your time. Until you value your time, you won't do anything with it." - M. Scott Peck What a perfect quote for entrepreneurs, especially those who offer services. It can be so challenging to set up boundaries and know what we're worth.
However, that's the only way we can move forward, stay sane + do amazing things with the time we have.
Here are a few questions that come to mind when I read this quote:
"Don't wait for your feelings to change to take action. Take the action and your feelings will change." -Barbara Baron Growth requires change. If something doesn't feel right, it's time to test some options.
Don't be paralyzed by the fear of regret. You always have a choice. If the first action doesn't work out, try another one. It's really that simple.
"I saw that my life was a vast glowing empty page and I could do anything I wanted." -Jack Keruoac I love Jack Keruoac. He was so full of wonder, possibility and inspiration.
Take a moment to view your life in this way, as a blank page.
What would you create? Are those visions your visions, or what you feel you should want?
What's stopping you from doing so? Are those valid reasons for stopping you, or can you find a creative solution around them?
Simple words to live by. Don't over-complicate your life. The simplest answer is usually the best (+listen to your gut). Tell your friends and family you love them + don't hold grudges. It's never worth it. And my favorite of all, never stop expanding your mind. Being open to new experiences and learning new things is a core component of happiness.
"Have the courage to follow your heart and intuition." - Steve Jobs This is the absolute biggest lesson I've learned over the past few years. Trust your gut. That's a cliche for a reason.
I like this quote, but I might expand on this a little by defining goals as how you want to feel in life (channeling The Desire Map here). Keeping mindfulness in mind, you can't get too attached to the outcome. Be driven and aspirational, but don't close yourself to opportunities that might come along the way by focusing too hard on how you envision it working out.
I love this and just had to share. I'm all for living a healthy lifestyle, but don't let perfectionism take control of your dreams.

"You know the truth by the way it feels" Just a little reminder to listen to your gut.

I've had too many clients who are afraid to launch their businesses because they feel it's not perfect. They are comparing their first launch to the big players in their field and are afraid they won't compare. But the thing is, of course you won't compare. This is your starting point. It's better to launch and correct later than to never launch. Think of the learning opportunities you're missing out on and the clients you aren't helping because you keep putting it off.
I've gotten wrapped up in this same issue, sending panicked emails to Danielle- "But my tag line isn't perfect yet! What about this one? Or this one??" Thankfully she sweetly sets me straight and reminds me to strive for progress, not perfection. Perfection is an illusion, and my tagline is fine how it is.
Have you struggled with perfection in your business? I'd love if you would share your story in the comments!
Just sweet and to the point today!"Leave people better than you found them." <3
P.S. I'm so obsessed with this background image! SO pretty. I can't find the original source, so if you know, leave a comment and I'll update!
"I figure, if a girl wants to be a legend, she should go ahead and be one." -Calamity Jane There's not much I need to say about this. Be what you want to be. And at the same time, do not feel guilty for whatever that may be.

While you're furiously jotting down your to-do list, make sure you leave time for things that light you up. At least one thing per day that really puts a smile on your face. When you feel like you don't have time to attend that dinner with friends, that's probably when you need it most. Go. Enjoy it. You need it to keep going.
I’m an SEO + content marketing strategist with over a decade of experience in the industry.
I work with passionate, purpose-driven business owners and marketing directors who are tired of trying to do All The Things and spreading their efforts too thin. They want to know what's working, what's not working, and where they should really be spending their time and money.
But I'll be honest- I'm not here for the people chasing vanity metrics. My philosophy is grounded in people-first marketing and what I've dubbed #SEOwithSoul. I don't believe in hacks and "beating algorithms" as a long term strategy.
